Q: Will I have free time to myself?
A: Yes, some free time has been incorporated into the itinerary and we encourage you to get out and see more of South America through your own eyes.
Q: Do I need to get immunised for anything to visit South America?
A: There are a number of immunisations that are necessary to have prior to visiting countries like Brazil and Argentina. Please consult your GP for further information. Ensure you do this at least 3-4 weeks before travelling.
Q: Is it safe in South America?
A: People always ask us about the safety when considering their travel to South America. To date, we have never come across or been involved in any incidents on our travels through South America. As with ANY city in the world (including where you live), normal precautions should be taken with regards to your personal safety. The advantage of travelling with a group like ours is that there is strength in numbers, and that we team up with local experts who have their finger on the pulse of everything that is happening locally.
Q: I can't get to Rio until the 17th April. Can I get a discount for one less night and will I miss out on anything?
A: We understand that there are many different flight options available and that the best value ones may not get you there in time for the start of the tour. We are happy to offer discounts for fewer nights stayed and you can jump on the tour at any point. We just need to liaise with you to work out when exactly you can join us.
Q: Will we eat together?
A: You will have the option to eat with the tour leaders or with other participants, or you may choose to eat separately. In most cases, you will be shown a range of food options that you will be able to choose from, with details of cost, nutritional content and variety.
Q: Can I take photos?
A: Absolutely! We encourage you to take photos of the tour and upload them to your social media accounts.
Q: Can I pay to stay extra nights at the accommodation after the tour is finished?
A: We are happy to ask ahead if you can extend your stay beyond the tour if you ask us when you reserve your place. Obviously, this will incur extra costs for the room which we will pass onto you prior to the commencement of the tour. If you ask us after we have made the booking, we would ask that you make your own arrangements with the accommodation yourself to ascertain if extending your stay is a possibility.
Q: My friend wants to come too, can we stay in the same room?
A: Absolutely yes! You would both then be eligible for the mates rates price. Just let us know if you want to get cosy with your “friend”, or if two beds are still necessary.
Q: I really want to do a day trip to Uruguay, but I don’t see it listed on the itinerary. Will I get a chance to do it?
A: Any specific attractions not listed on the itinerary that you want to visit will need to be done in your allocated free time. We will certainly be able to give you guidance on how to go about seeing any attractions not listed on the itinerary. If there happens to be a number of people within the group who want to visit a specific attraction, upon the agreement of the entire group, we are happy to make changes to the itinerary to incorporate such requests.
